Reciprocating Gait Orthosis Designed to "Grow" with Patient
MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA June 1, 2007 - Otto Bock HealthCare launched a new Reciprocating Gait Orthosis, a unique system that is easily adjusted for the needs of a growing patient.
The RGO hip joint system is designed to work in conjunction with the Unilateral Joint System. It is ideal for patients with traumatic paraplegia or spina bifida.
“The RGO features a biaxial joint that allows up to 15 degrees of pelvic rotation. That makes it easier for patients to change walking direction and more closely mimics a natural gait pattern,” said Jeff Ashenbrenner, Orthotics Market Manager for Otto Bock.
Established in 1958, Minneapolis, Minnesota-based Otto Bock HealthCare LLP is the North and South American corporate headquarters of Otto Bock Healthcare, GmbH, based in Duderstadt, Germany. Otto Bock has more than 3,500 employees worldwide and produces over 20,000 types of prosthetic and orthotic components, rehabilitation products and technical plastics, and also provides information technology services.
