Ottobock launches WalkOn® Reaction Junior for children and X-ible joints and SNAPstop for articulating AFOs
Three new orthotic products from Ottobock provide options for children and more.
AUSTIN, Texas (July 3, 2017) – Ottobock Healthcare has launched three orthotic products: the WalkOn Reaction Junior ankle foot orthosis, X-ible flexure joints, and the SNAPstop plantar flexion stop.
Based on the popular WalkOn Reaction Plus, the WalkOn Reaction Junior is designed for children who require greater support than traditional dorsiflexion assist orthoses provide. It features highly dynamic properties and uses ground reaction force to promote a more stable physiological gait pattern. The lightweight carbon fiber prepreg material provides high energy return to support lifting of the foot during swing phase and toe clearance to reduce fall risk. The durable one-piece design can be fit simply by trimming the sole with scissors.
The X-ible flexure joints and SNAPstop plantar flexion stop are designed for articulating thermoplastic ankle foot orthoses.
X-ible joints are small, lightweight, and flexible self-aligning joints with free-motion or dorsal-assist function. This kind of joint is most commonly used as an ankle joint, but it can also be used as a knee, elbow, or wrist joint. Pre-flexed X-ible joints are available with light, medium, or strong configurations.
The SNAPstop is an interchangeable plantar flexion stop that allows for on-the-spot changes to sagittal alignment. The SNAPstop does not require glue or screws for installation. It can simply be snapped into place.
The X-ible and SNAPstop are available in adult and pediatric sizes.

The WalkOn Reaction Junior, X-ible flexure joints, and SNAPstop plantar flexion stop are now available in the United States and Canada.
