Ottobock to attend American Physical Therapy Association meeting in San Antonio
AUSTIN, Texas (February 8, 2017) – Ottobock, a global leader in orthotic, prosthetic and rehabilitative products is attending the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Combined Sections Meeting in San Antonio, Texas from February 15 – 18, 2017.
Ottobock participates in and supports educational initiatives such as courses, events and webinars to help physical therapists stay up-to-date on products, services, and techniques that lead to successful patient outcomes.
Key members from Ottobock North America attending the APTA Combined Sections Meeting include Mark Edwards, Director of Professional and Clinical Services, and Aaron Holm, Manager of Consumer Engagement.
Edwards was formerly the Director of Prosthetics Education at Northwestern University’s Prosthetics-Orthotics Center. He has lectured nationally and internationally and authored many journal articles. Edwards has a Master’s Degree in Health Professions Education from the University of Illinois at Chicago and has been certified in prosthetics by the American Board for Certification since 1985.
Holm lost both of his legs above the knee in a horrific accident on January 2, 2007. But what shattered his body failed to dent his courage, strength and infectious optimism. In 2008 he started the non-profit organization, Wiggle Your Toes with a mission to help those who have suffered limb loss heal, recover and flourish. He’s been helping others regain their positive energy and spirit ever since.
In addition to Edwards and Holm, Ottobock Champion, Mike Brock will be in attendance demonstrating the functionality of the innovative C-Brace® orthotic technology that is helping him to be more mobile and independent.
